Splashin ,Gnawin and Teethin

Aubri has recently graduated from her baby tub, to be the big girl tub.  She is in heaven!  She chases her duck, Penelope, all around the tub and splashes until the entire bathroom is soaked!  She normally loves to catch Penelope and kiss her.  But, being the stubborn little girl she is, she wouldn't let me take any pictures.

Aubri eyeing Penelope.  The battle is on!

Aubri just got her TWO bottom teeth!  She now will bite you, and its pretty hard!  She doesn't mean to though, she is just gnawing her heart away to make herself more comfortable. But it sure does hurt.  Now, with teeth, come teeth brushing!  We bought her the only kind out there for babies, a Seaseme Street one, a la Zoey.  And she enjoys every second when I brush her teeth. That's twice a day every day folks! But in between bushings, she likes to just chew on it.  Hopefully this will strike a love of dental care for her, and she will always take care of her teeth!

If you look really close, you can see her teeth.  This was the best shot she would give me.  So I will take what I can get.

Aubs and Dad after a long day.  We were trying out her hair accessory for this weekend.

Saturday's the big Wedding Day for Auntie Jen and Uncle Dell.  Which means we will be MIA until Sunday. We have a packed week with getting this wedding ready. Did I mention we all have to wear black and its going to be 92* on Saturday?  (Aubri lucked out, and it the only one who gets to wear ivory.) Hopefully we all survive the wedding marathon and heat!

Big Shades

Aubri and I went swimming the other day in her little pool.  The first time she tried it, she wasn't a big fan of it and lasted a whole five minutes.  However, on the second go around, she played in it for almost half an hour. She loved every second of it. She discovered that if she leaned back and put her arms on the side, she could lay down a little and kick to her hearts content.  She also enjoyed jumping up and down in pool, with my help of course.  Now that the temperatures are finally warming back up, we are planning on spending plenty of time at the pool this summer.  (Not to mention that I haven't had a good tan since I got married because I was in school every summer and working.  So I am making up for lost time!) So, here's to a pool side, big shades, hats and tan summer!

P.S. Did I mention that Roo already has a tan? Well, she does. Lucky for her she got my skin and not her Daddy's.  He will even tell you that's a blessing!

Land of the FREE, because of the BRAVE

Since today is Memorial Day, its always nice to remember why we have it.  Many of us view it as an extra long weekend, a way to kick off the summer or the day of BBQ's.  I know I have done this many times in the past.  But I truly am so grateful for the country we live in.  And for all the men and women who serve to protect this country.  My Grandpa Williamson is the definition of "Made in America" (Its a song by Toby Keith, look it up, its a good one.) He always took so much pride in being an american. He served our country and truly took to heart what the true meaning of being an american is.  He loved and served everyone around him.  When he passed away in March, we were able to have a 21 Gun Salute at the burial service. It was such an amazing experience to be apart of.

This is my sweet Grandpa's Military picture. He is a pretty handsome fella.

Thank you to all the men and women who serve to protect our freedom each day.

Goodbye CONTACTS

Last Friday, was my last day at 1-800-CONTACTS. I worked there a little over 3 years, and to be honest, I won't miss it one bit. I may miss a few people, but other than that, I am happy not to be working there anymore.

I am now lucky enough to be a stay at home Mom.  Worlds best job right here.  I love it!  I love not having to be away from my peanut.  Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem leaving her, but its just missing her when she is awake and playful.  Its so fun playing with her and making her laugh.  I guess you could say I am addicted to be a Mom.  But that's a good thing.

Girl Time

Bright and early this morning, Aubri and I headed out to Daybreak to do a yard sale with the Tuckers and Brittany.  It was so much fun.  We just sat chit chatting the morning away.  From exercise to hair styles, decorations to life goals.  It was much needed girl time for me.  Since we have all retired (Retired for the time being, that is.) we are planning to get together more often. Can't wait for more play dates for the girls, and chatting. Thanks for all the fun girls! You too, Chas.

5 Months

Its hard to believe that its already been 5 month since Aubri came into our family.  She is growing so much and becoming more independent by the day. Right before she turned 5 months, she cut her first tooth! Its her bottom left tooth. More and more comes in each day.  So that means there are more tears from both her and me. (Not really, but I am exhausted from having a grumpy baby. I don't know how Mom's do it with a collic.)  Other than teething and drooling on anything and everything, we've been enjoy this amazing weather. We go on one to two walks a day. She pops her pointer and middle finger in her mouth and just chills in her stroller. Loving life as she looks at everything around her.  She's been practicing walking too.  Of course, with our help.  This girl is just so eager to grow up!  She has graduated from her pink whale tub, to the big girl bath tub. Since she wouldn't keep her bottom in her seat, I gave up and now let her lay in the tub with about an inch of so of water.  You would have think I gave her a pony.  She is thrilled being able to sprawl out and splash all she wants.  She now will give you kisses when you ask for them.  So far, only Mama and Daddy are lucky enough to get these. Watch out though, when you ask for just one kiss, you get attacked with kissed from her.  On your cheeks, lips, eye, nose...anywhere she finds appropriate.  While she gives you these kisses, she grabs your face to hold it in place, and when she is finished, she pushes off and clasps her hands together.

As of lately, she loves just playing all by herself.  She loves her  bug and could eat him all day if I let her.  She scoots around the room inches at a time. But always has her bug by her side.

I love how she is looking at her bug like they are talking to each other.  Such an odd duck.

Now we are just waiting for her to crawl.  We knows its close, she gets her bottom in the air, and lifts her tummy.  So close! We are both excited and dreading this.  She already is such a busy body, we dread the day she is officially mobile. Last but not least, she now wakes up by cooing, blowing her lips and now growling. I know, growling. Oh, how we love this little girl. She doesn't cease to amaze us and make us laugh.

Motherhood

Mother's Day took on a whole new meaning to me this year.   Having Aurbi in our family has only brought us closer together.  I love spending all day, everyday with her.  Its seems like I have been a Mom my entire life, when its only been a 5 months.  Its so fun to see her grow and develop more of her personality each day. I am so grateful for this sweet little girl, and the wonderful new world she has introduced us to.

Stroll Downtown

This weekend was a fun one.  Austin insisted we do anything and everything that I wanted to do since it was both Mother's Day and my birthday weekend.  I picked shopping, of course.  We went to the City Creek Center, that we loved!  I just wish everyone and their dog wasn't there.  It was hard to shop with it being so packed.  We will definitely have to go back again.  Just on a Monday morning, when no one else is there.(Haha) After some shopping, we headed over to Temple Square.  Aubri loved all the flowers everywhere.  She was even trying to eat them. Funny girl.   This might have to be a new tradition each year for us.  Maybe we could even add the Little America Breakfast in there too? I would be all for it!

Love how she is just always happy.  She didn't make a peep until we got in the car to go home.  She was ready for her nap, and wanted to make sure we knew it!

Love this little peanut.  She is all smiley until you go to take the picture.

Tummy Time

Aubri loves her tummy time.  Lately, she just sits there talking to herself as she practices her crawl and scoots around.  She is just a doll. I can't believe she is almost 5 months!

The blanket she is laying on is her favorite blanket of all.  She loves to look at all the fish and bright colors. She sits there cooing and blowing raspberries at them.  Its pretty funny to listen to.(My mom showed her how to blow a raspberry and she caught on with in minutes.  The morning after she learned this, she literally sat in her crib after she woke up and blew bubbles and raspberries for a good half hour.)

Don't you just love those big blue eyes?  They are the one thing that makes her look like her father's child.  Other than that, she's a mini me. Also, this chick would be crawling by now if she could keep her arms in.  For some reason she thinks she needs to spread eagle to crawl. Ha.

4 Months

I can't believe its already been 4 1/2 months.  I am a little late on posting this, but I figure its better to do it, then never doing it at all.

Aubri is such a happy and calm baby, for a large majority of the time. She sleeps through the night. 12 hours straight.  She has spoiled us by doing this since she was 3 months old.

Things she loves.   For starters she loves her toys. Her three favorite toys are: Baby Minnie, Sofie La Girafe and her bug. They keep her entertained in the car, and give me a few minutes to get something done.  She loves her Jump up.  She usually plays in it for about an hour or more everyday. Best purchase I ever made for her.  She is such a busy body and wants to be so independent. This helps get her wiggles out. Her latest thing to do while in her jump up is scream as loud as she can, with a huge smile on her face.  Its almost like she is singing to herself.

New things she started: She has started baby food, and loves it!   By far, her favorites are squash, peaches and pears.  No matter what you are feeding her though, you better feed her fast.  She yells at you if you aren't getting it to her fast enough, and will sometimes even start to cry.  Yes, we a have a drama queen on our hands.  But we still love her.  She loves her baby mum-mum's and water. (I started giving it to her because she started liking me in the shower, and licking her rubber ducky. Odd duck, I know)  Her new rubber ducky.  Every morning when she takes her bath, she has a competition with the duck, to see who lasts the longest.  Its pretty fun to watch.  She kicks so hard trying to kick it out of the tub.  Most of the time she wins, but other times the water gets too cold/ or too low  before she can get it out.  We have also been going on a lot of walks. She loves to be outside just looking around at everything.

She has mastered rolling over from her back to her tummy, and is still so eager to crawl. She is getting closer each day. She gets her knees and arms up, and sometimes some of her tummy. Its a work in progress, we know she will be there soon.  She also has become aware of her hands. She grabs and pinches everything. I'm suprised we haven't lost more hair.  She has a pretty tight grip.

She is growing up so fast and develops more of her personality each day. Its so fun to watch, but bitter sweet at the same time.  We love you peanut!
