RED

For Mother's Day/ My birthday, Austin promised me an SUV/Crossover. I honestly never thought this day would come! We have looked for months at Mazda CX7, Nissan Muranos ect, and finally found this magic carpet. An Inviniti FX45.  We are in love! I honestly would live in this car if I could. But Austin won't let me. ha! This is my forever car. And I am very pleased with our selection!  Welcome to the family, Red!

Chopped

Ever since I found out I have Celiacs and have been eating gluten free, my hair has become insanely thick. On top of that, it grows like a weed.  Now, this is nothing to complain about, I am one lucky girl to have such good hair.  I love my hair. Its naturally curly, but straightens and styles very easily.  But lately, its become so thick, that it would take me a good 10 minutes just to brush it out. It was so snarly.  I finally got fed up with it, so I chopped 7 inches off my hair. It felt so good!  I absolutely love my hair. Its easy to do and goes into a pony tail too! I'll grow my hair out again, one day. But for now, its staying short and out of reach from our little miss.

Summertime

Saturday was HOT. To be exact, it was 98*.  I love the heat, and so does Austin, but babies dread the heat. Which is completely understandable.  So to keep us all happy, Aubri went swimming at Grandpa and Grandma's house in Alpine.  We basked in the sun, while she splashed to her hearts content. She loved it!  After about 20 minutes she ready to go in. Between the heat and the warmth of the pool, I think Daddy made it a little too warm, she wanted to cool off.

Isn't that just the cutest binky? Thanks Auntie Jen for getting that for her. Its her favorite binky now!

When she was ready to get out, she army crawled out. All the way to me. Love that she is a Mama's girl!

After that, I took her inside and fed her and put her down for a nap while Daddy and Grandpa Dave went and got lunch. She had other plans so, we ended up going on a ten minute walk to get to sleep.  After she woke up,  we went on a hike. This is the biggest thing I miss about living in Alpine.  You can literally walk right out your door, head for the mountains to go a nice one or two hour hike. On top of that, is gorgeous up there. See for yourself:

I wouldn't mind living in Alpine one day just for the view and how motivating it is to go on a hike. When we lived there, we would go for hikes 3-4 times a week. It was fantastic and kept us in good shape. We ran about half of the hikes to give it a little more kick. I miss it!

Aubri did really good! We brought a cup of pebbled ice..her favorite and it helped keep her cool and happy.  She chilled in her stroller most of the way, but got sick of it after about and hour. So we did the next thing she loves to do, riding on her Daddy's shoulders. She was so excited when Austin lifted her to go on his shoulders. I think she had a perma smile for at least 10 minutes.

Of course, after the hike to cool her down, we stopped by the splash pad in Alpine. She was very interested in it. And let out a sigh when the water hit her toes.

It was a good weekend with time well spent. We were all so exhausted yesterday, that we all took a family nap for 2 1/2 hours. Felt so good.  We hope everyone is enjoying this amazing weather, just as much as we are!

Happy 3 Years!

Austin and I have now been married for 3 incredible years.  I love being married to my best friend.  We are such a good match for each other.  We make each other laugh constantly and go together like peas in a pod, just like every marriage should be.  I love this man with all my heart and am so happy I married him three years ago today. I love you babe.  More than you'll ever know.

6 Months

Aubri turned 6 month on Friday. Its crazy to think that she has been in our lives for that long. Time has flown by. We can honestly say we have enjoyed every second. Aubri is the best  baby. And we aren't the only one who thinks it either. Our pediatrician, family and friends. The list goes on. We are constantly told how she is one in a million with how she acts. She never has been a one to cry. Only when she is extremely upset. Which is a rare occasion. She sleeps through most nights. 12 hours straight. She smiles constantly and loves to blow bubbles. She is so eager to crawl too!  She is up on all fours, and does the rock back and forth.  She will even move her knees but she hasn't figured out what to do with her arms yet.  She has the army crawl down and is insanely fast at it. Needless to say, she is getting busier by the day. We definitely have our arms full, but love it.

With becoming 6 months, come the 6 month shots. She had them yesterday and did fantastic. She didn't cry  until the MA put the band aids on. And we are pretty sure it was just to yell at the MA and say "What the heck was that for? That wasn't nice of you to do at all." And then she was done.  She is in the 90th percentile for height and 50th percentile for head and weight.  She is a long, and lean little girl with a spunky attitude.

To keep her happy, we went on a walk last night for family night. She loved it, especially when she got to ride on her Daddy's shoulders. She instantly puts a huge smile on her face and grabs onto your hair or ears. She has a really good grib so watch out!

Austin's First Father's Day

Yesterday, we celebrated Austin's first Father's Day. And I have to say that it went fantastic!  Aubri and I made him these yummy pancakes, and heart shaped bacon:

Of course, Austin loved them!  Did I mention the pancakes were gluten free?  Well, they are! And they tasted amazing without all the syrup, strawberries and whip cream! See, even Austin ate them happily.

For Austin's gift, Aubri and I gave him the Blu-Ray complete series of Star Wars. As you can tell,  Austin was ecstatic and loved it! While Aubri wasn't that impressed. She clearly was more interested in the wrapping paper.

We then spent that evening watch the Heat vs. OKC.  Aubri loves watching basketball. The first game, she didn't make a sound the entire time. She just sat right next to Austin all snuggled up, sucking on her binky.  Well last night, she was more interested in entertaining us and eating her toes.

I am sure you have noticed that she is always in a diaper, if she could, she would be naked at all times of the day. So this is our compromise. I was the same exact way when I was little, so I don't know why this is  such a surprise to us.
Aubri loves to suck on her toes at any given moment.  While I am feeding her, changing her or going on walks, this chick has her toes in her mouth. And is rather happy about it.  I tried taking a picture as she was sucking on her toes, and this is the look she gave me when she saw the camera:

As you can tell, she wasn't real keen on having me take pictures of her most joyous thing to do. But then she finally gave in for me.

This is just us watching the game. So bummed OKC didn't win. But we still have a few more games, they could totally pull through! Aubri wasn't very happy about them losing either...this is what she did at half time, when we were about to put her down for bed:

She's coming after you, Lebron. You better watch it!
All in all, we had a fantastic Father's Day.  Austin is such a phenomenal Father to Roo.  He always makes her smile and laugh in ways that I could never do.  He steps up to the plate  ch day more and more.  They are bff's in their own special way.  Austin and Roo have a ball together.  She squeals in excitement the second Austin walks through the door. Thank you Austin for being an amazing Dad! You really are the best.

I am also lucky to have my amazing Dad. He teaches me so much each day to be a better person.  He has such a good heart and cares genuinely  for everyone he comes in contact with. He puts everyone above his own needs and makes the world best chili and BBQ. I couldn't have asked for a better Dad.

Hair Mishap

Whenever the is a wedding in the family, everyone wants to look their best.  So, with Jenni and Cordell's wedding, Austin needed his haircut. Just a little trim to make it look clean and sharp.  We recently bought some clippers to shave his neck and whatnot, so I just figured "Hey, I'll just go over the sides with a 4." After all, that was the length his hair was at anyway. We started out with the guard on and everything, and some how it slipped...and quickly turned to this:

I was immediately horrified! Meanwhile Austin was laughing.  Thank goodness he was such a good sport about it all. Luckily, a pro was able to fix it. It just looked like he was about to head off to boot camp. Ha.  I can guarantee you right now, I will never try to cut his hair again.  Thanks again babe for being so sweet about it! That is true unconditional love right there!

Happy WINDSday

Looks like a rather blustery day today.   Through the wind gusts and chills, we battled our way on a walk to the park today.  Aubri was bundled up with her hoodie and shades. And of course, we can't forget the bow!  Normally, Aubri despises the wind. She fusses the second the wind touches her face, but I think the sun glasses and hoodie made it more bearable for her.

She didn't make a peep the whole time.  I think the wind literally took her breath away. Or she was just too busy trying to lick the air.  She loved  the swings so much.  We will have to go back again soon, when its warmer and not so windy. By the way, this little girl is an adrenalin junky. The swings were just what the doctor ordered to keep her from having withdrawals.

If she would have had it her way, she would have gone higher and faster.  Austin and I are just not ready to take it to that level.  Afterall, once you reach a thrill like that, there is no turning back.

Blowing bubbles, while she swings.  She is a multitasker already!

The "Are you done yet? I would like to continue swinging, please." look.

Now, we couldn't leave the park, without taking her down the slide a few times. And yes, we may have enjoyed it just a little more then she did. Maybe this little thrill seeker is a little unsure of heights. Either way, she seemed to enjoy the slide.

As soon as we started to leave the park, it felt like it dropped five degree's and the wind was going ten miles faster.  So we did what every good parent would do from keeping their  baby from tears, we ran home as fast as could.  And I am proud to say that not one tear was shred.  I was just reminded how old I am, and how much I really need to start running again.  Weights just aren't cutting it! Can't wait for the many more adventures that this summer holds!

The Badger's

Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Badger! They got married on Saturday, June 2nd at the Bountiful  LDS Temple, and it was gorgeous and hot! Jenni made a beautiful bride. It was so much fun to spend the day with the family.  Congrats you two!  We are so thrilled for the both of you. Its about time you made it official. (They dated for 3 whole years!)

Aubri was ready for a nap when we got out the temple.  She was fine up until the family pictures started. She couldn't take the heat any longer.  So I walked over to the fountain and dipped her legs in, like any good Mom would do :)  Then she finally fell asleep in Austin's arm.  Poor thing was miserable.

Roo and I, just waiting for the reception to start. I love her facial expression here.

Down below is proof that Josh and Jenni will hug people, but on only special occasions.  They both hate when people touch them. And of course, Roo with Auntie Jen.  Roo loves Jen and squeals every time she see's her. She always knows its play time with Auntie Jen around.
